Hashimoto's 411®
Hashimoto's is one of the most common autoimmune conditions in the world — and one of the most misunderstood.
Hashimoto's isn't just a thyroid condition. It's first and foremost an autoimmune disease — and that distinction changes everything about how you understand it, how you navigate it, and how you treat it.
This is the space I created for that conversation.
I'm Alice McDonnell — patient advocate, founder of the original Hashimoto's 411® community, and someone who has been living with and researching autoimmune disease for over two decades. Everything here is built around one belief: that understanding your condition is the first step to advocating for yourself within it.
Your path. Your pace. Your 411.

🎙️A Conversation with Izabella Wentz, PharmD
Before Izabella Wentz became one of the most recognized voices in the thyroid and autoimmune world, she was an active member of the original Hashimoto's 411® community. In those early days, we connected directly — fellow patients and advocates navigating the same questions, the same frustrations, and the same determination to find real answers.
As Izabella's work evolved into what would become The Thyroid Pharmacist® platform, I had the privilege of watching her rise into one of the leading educators in the Hashimoto's space. Throughout the years I've proudly supported her books, her research, and her patient-centered mission — and I've always believed that the patient communities that came before helped lay the ground for the conversations she's now leading.
This interview is a reflection of that shared journey — and a shared commitment to helping every Hashimoto's patient feel seen, informed, and empowered.
